OCR: Sumner teamed with Johnny Marr, guitar player for the Smiths and The The, and Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys to form the band Electronic. Electronic was an alternative supergroup of sorts, combining some of the most prominent names in '80s pop music. Their first single, "Getting Away With It," was released in 1989 and featured Tennant on backing vocals. A self-titled album came out in 1991, followed by singles for "Get the Message" and "Feel Every Beat." The "Electronic" album was a collection of pristine pop songs, subtly blending the unique musical talents of each of the band's members. The song "Disappointed," with Neil Tennant on lead vocals, was recorded for the "Cool World" soundtrack and released as a single in 1992. electronic digital culture stream
